The town council of Benell has approved in plenary session held last night the General Account of the year 2017 that reflects a very positive balance of the economic status of the City Council of the town.
Among other indicators, it stands out that 90% of budgetary execution has been exceeded, since all the projects with which the municipal accounts had already been carried out or started.
Despite these results, no deficit was created, but the local administration registered a surplus of more than € 355,000 at the end of 2017.
These data reflect that this Corporation has been practicing "a responsible and prudent economic policy, focused only on improving the lives of the residents of Beniel", as stated by the Mayor Mari Carmen Morales.
The 2017 budget had an income forecast of over six million euros that, thanks to the management of the government team, has increased to over seven million.
Special emphasis has been placed on collecting the outstanding income from previous years, achieving that almost three out of four euros of this total have been recovered by the municipal coffers.
Payment to suppliers This policy of zero indebtedness has not prevented the City of Beniel from being one of the public entities that has paid the most expense invoices.
During this past fiscal year the average period of payment to suppliers has been around 16 days on average.
The councilor, has stated on this issue that "this is a remarkable fact because this commitment makes the companies that supply can have a healthy economy and encourage the growth of the municipality."
Repayment of loans Likewise, with the remaining treasury, loans have been amortized for an amount of more than half a million euros, which translates into interest savings and a significant reduction in amortizations for the coming years.
In this way, by the end of 2018, the financial debt will have been reduced to € 9,694,759.
Since the arrival of Mari Carmen Morales as mayor of Beniel this figure has had a steady decline, a situation contrary to that which exists in the Autonomous Community, since year after year its debt is increased.
Morales also explained that "from Beniel City Council understand that the data provided by the General Account indicate in the first place, the good state of the Municipal Treasury, also a significant decrease in indebtedness and a high percentage of execution of the 2017 budget, leading out all the actions that were reflected in it ".
Therefore, the head of the administration of Beniel has commented that "our responsible management is not only demonstrated with facts in every corner of Beniel, and meeting the needs of neighbors, but also the City Council's economy is a good example of balance , work and transparency ".
