Intensive fumigation tasks against mosquitoes and other insects are maintained (07/10/2019)

Given the torrential rains that have taken place in Beniel, actions have been taken to minimize the possible effects of mosquitoes and other insects, which increase their presence in the face of events such as those experienced in the municipality.

Following the instructions of the General Directorate of Public Health, it has acted primarily in the areas that were most affected, with cleaning and sludge dewatering.

This is of vital importance since standing water can be a source of spread for mosquitoes and other insects.

With cleaning, respiratory problems are also avoided, since the dust does not get to contaminate the atmosphere with particles that may be the source of respiratory disorders.

The presence of stagnant waters next to the current weather are elements that favor the presence of mosquitoes.

For this reason, the City Council has hired a specialized company that is doing fumigation work in those key points, such as the scuppers.

These tasks are being carried out throughout the municipality and also in the different educational centers.

These works, which are going to continue, need everyone's collaboration to be as effective as possible.

Water accumulations that occur in private sites (homes, homes) are also used by these mosquitoes.

To avoid further discomfort and bites it is very important that the neighbors also monitor all kinds of own belongings that are likely to accumulate water: pot dishes, buckets, ashtrays, reservoirs, animal drinking troughs, umbrella stands.

etc.

It is also recommended to clean with bleach or disinfectant those points that may have accumulated.
