This year we celebrated the II Educational Heritage Days in the town of Beniel

Four municipalities, five Secondary Education centers, four City Councils ... and more than 300 students.

This year we celebrated the II Educational Heritage Days in the town of Beniel.

This is an Educational Innovation project in which the public education centers of Beniel (Ies Gil de Junterón), Santomera (Ies Poeta Julián Andúgar and Ies Octavio Carperna Artés), Fortuna (Ies Santa María de los Baños) and Abanilla (Ies) participate. Abanilla), counting with a total of almost 350 students approximately.

It is a project that consists of the study of local heritage by educational centers and their presentation to the rest through Educational Heritage Days of the Eastern Region.

We started the year 2017-18 whose headquarters were Fortuna for the 1st Conference, but they will continue to be carried out with a similar format during the remaining years in the different participating municipalities.

During the First Heritage Days held on April 12 and 13, 2018, various activities related to the theme of heritage, contest and heritage awards, visits to local heritage, historical recreation workshops, among others, were carried out.

Together with the support of the Ministry of Education and the CPR, project financing is also available from local councils, covering an important part of the project's expenditure.

The University of Murcia through the GRUPO DICSO (Didactics of Social Sciences) also supports the project by evaluating it.

In addition, there are several associations and entities linked to heritage (Patrimonio Santomera, Sodales de Fortuna, El Quijar de la Vieja, Integra Foundation, Friends of the Twin Norms Moquita and Pando, ADCMurcia - Asociacion de Divulgación Científica- and Fundacion Integra) in the different municipalities and in the Region those that have been involved with the project.

So we have a great collaboration of the educational community.

This year the Headquarters will be in Beniel during the month of February (February 14 and 15), making it coincide with the 20th Anniversary of the IES Gil de Junterón Institute and having the same centers and students, as well as with the pertinent authorities of the different municipalities.

The Days include this year a dramatization for Beniel's heritage, in addition to the contest, workshops, activities that are being carried out.
