The II Beniel MTB Trophy - Pujante Grand Prix was presented last Saturday at the City Council of Beniel by the first Deputy Mayor, José Antonio Franco, the president of the Cycling Club Beniel, Jesús García, the Councilor for Sports, José Antonio García , and the president of the BTT committee of the Cycling Federation of the Region of Murcia, Lorenzo López.
In just one year this competition has been consolidated and has increased its prestige throughout the Region of Murcia and in the national territory.
The president of the Beniel Cycling Club stressed that "this 2020 we have been fortunate that the Beniel BTT test is the first of the season of the XCO circuit, which is the Olympic MTB cycling modality of the Region of Murcia. This means that who reach the goal first you will also get the leadership in the competition. "
Among the novelties, it is worth mentioning that the II Beniel BTT Trophy has extended its route to the upper categories in a circuit that will have a marked technical character.
In total 150 participants are expected from up to 20 teams from Murcia, Alicante, Albatece and Almería.
During the event the new sports teams of the Cycling Club have also been presented, highlighting the "Municipal School of Cycling", which hosts about twenty young promises.
The II Beniel MTB Trophy also includes a Kids Series in which a minimum of 120 riders will participate, grouped into two differentiated circuits according to the category (promises, youth and fry).
To conclude the event José Antonio Franco, first deputy mayor, stressed "the success in which this test has become in Beniel for his great sporting interest, but also to value a natural space such as the place of" La Fuentecica ". During the last weeks since the Consistory, several conditioning actions have been carried out to adapt this environment to the needs of the competition, always respecting the ecological value of the ecosystem.
