During this morning, a working meeting was held between the Mayor of Beniel, M.ª Carmen Morales, and the Counselor for Transparency, Participation and Public Administration, Beatriz Ballesteros.
The meeting addressed the situation of fire prevention and extinction in the municipality, with the aim of speeding up response times to emergencies. This is a demand that the Beniel City Council has been reiterating since last year, to shorten the response period and carry out faster actions to avoid further damage.
The Counselor has reported that the signing of an agreement between the Consortium for Fire Fighting and Murcia Firefighters is being prepared so that the latter institution performs the functions of first intervention in the town, counting a shorter response time. The first mayor, accompanied by the Civil Protection councilor, has also addressed the transfer of a new vehicle that would be destined for Civil Protection Beniel, counting on the commitment of that delivery in the coming months.
Morales has highlighted the work of the group of volunteers that "does a great job for the well-being and safety of citizens."
