From tomorrow a "Covid Point" is installed in the Beniel Health Center, to increase the diagnostic capacity of the municipality and avoid the displacement of residents to Murcia to carry out PCR tests. For this, the City Council, outside the framework of its powers, made an investment of more than 7,000 euros in the Health Center last November.

The improvements include the installation of a large tent in the courtyard of the center, as well as the creation of a new access to it and the assembly of a ramp that allows correct accessibility.  The mayor of the municipality, Mª Carmen Morales, thanked the regional health authorities for finally responding to the request, "which will improve the detection of positives, an essential task to contain the spread of the pandemic in our town." To carry out diagnostic tests, the same sanitary protocol in force up to now will be maintained, so they will only be carried out to those people who come by appointment, upon request to their family doctor.

In no case will the test be done to people who come requesting it without an appointment.

So far, antigen tests have been carried out in the tent installed in the Health Center, but with the installation of the "Covid Point" it will also be possible to take samples for PCR.
