Beniel City Council has lodged an appeal to the Administrative Court against the Zonal Plan of the Area Waste XVII of the Diputación Provincial de Alicante.

Since the mayor of the municipality Roberto García Navarro presented the allegations against the dump last August, the council has received a negative decision, which repeals the allegations.

For this reason the City has announced that action on the ground of Article 25 and 45 of the Law on Administrative Jurisdiction (LJCA), with the sole aim of defending the interests of the people, and that this landfill would be located just two miles from Beniel, hurt hundreds of residents of the town, because it violates environmental laws or the rules of the Valencian community.

Now the City is awaiting the court of Alicante respond to this new procedure that the Consistory is welcomed to halt construction of the refuse.
