Beniel City Council continues to grow in the field of Social Services.
On this occasion are the biggest beneficiaries of the town, which may go to a new day center with many services tailored to their needs such as wheelchair ramps, showers, or exercise equipment for rehabilitation.
The inauguration took place this morning at the Social Policy Adviser, Bascuñana has come to Beniel to accompany the Mayor of the town, Roberto Garcia in this important event for older people in the municipality.
In this inaugural event was also attended by Director General Senior Paloma Recio, and the Councillor of Social Services, M ª Carmen Morales.
The facility is located in the old building where Segura River College, which has been completely renovated for the transfer of the headquarters.
The number of users is 30, of which twenty seats are for valid, those that can move by themselves, and ten for people who need more specialized care due to the type of disease, such as senile dementia.
The units have several designated areas for users and staff the center, three assistants and the coordinator.
On the ground floor is a meeting room, dining room, several offices, rest area, consultations for the ATS, and a room for the box office and special furniture, warehouse, dining room, and an industrial kitchen to make Food for users without the need to travel.
In the upper floor, a gym for physical rehabilitation of users, a shower adapted for stretchers and wheelchairs and other facilities planned for when the service expands.
Recently opened a new room called SILK, for the care of people with Alzheimer's and other dementias.
Autonomous Community subsidy
Headquarters Building Day Care began in late 2006 with a grant of € 500,000 granted by the Autonomous Community to the City of Beniel to perform the work.
The total cost of construction have been 660,000 euros, of which 160,000 have been invested by the City Council.
The completion of the work has exceeded 600,000 euros and the rest was spent on equipment for the center's kitchen.
The new Day Care Centre opened its doors about a month.
