The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana today opened the new Day Care Centre Beniel, with a total of 30 beds, 20 of them for the care of the elderly and the ten remaining patients Alzheimer's disease.
The new center, located at Calle Nicolás de las Peñas, has had a construction budget of more than 618,000 euros, with a contribution of 479,690 euros regional government and the rest provided by the City.
With regard to equipment, the Ministry has allocated more than 18,000 euros, which meant 75 percent of the total investment for this concept in the center.
The new infrastructure, set on an old building in town, has an area of over 1,300 square meters and is divided into two floors.
Day Care Center has been divided into units to offer all services to users, and have been adapted for disabled guests.
Bascuñana said at the opening the great effort being made by the regional government to provide all necessary municipal infrastructure to serve social demands raised by citizens of the Community, and especially to those who are in a dependent and who require special care to help improve their welfare.
He also recalled that day stays centers represent not only the possibility to give specialized care to people who need it, to receive the care needed to improve their quality of life, but also as a respite care for the environment of these people .
In the opening ceremony, the Minister Bascuñana was accompanied by the mayor of Beniel, Rodolfo Garcia, and by the Senior General Manager of the Ministry, Paloma Recio.
